The Glass Is Half…

I’ve been going back and forth between the titles BREAKDOWN and NOBODY’S VICTIM. I think it comes down to personal preference and whether you come from a perspective that a glass is half full or half empty on any given matter.

Case in point, when I first started writing this story I approached it with a focus on the trials and tribulations of the main character, Chris Ryder. Coming from this “glass as half empty” perspective with a concentration on personal struggle it’s not surprising that the title BREAKDOWN seemed appropriate. However, as the story evolved, and more specifically, as Chris evolved, he became determined to not be defined by his struggles. Instead, he became determined to take back control over his life. Approaching the story from this “glass as half full” perspective with a focus on personal strength and resilience has made me give serious consideration to changing the title to NOBODY’S VICTIM.
