The Bloody Truth

There’s a classic scene in the movie ‘A Few Good Men’ where Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise are facing off against each other in a military court-room. Tom shouts at Jack, “I want the truth.” Jack responds with his famous rant, “You can’t handle the truth!”

Can we handle the truth? It’s been said that the truth can set us free, which implies that the journey to discovering truth is a noble one. But…it can also get messy along the way.

It could be argued that we spend several years trying to find the truth to who we really are and want to be. And then we spend the next several years trying to stay true to who we are. What would you do if you learned that something you held as true for most of your life turned out to be lies? How would that change how you view yourself, and your world around you?

This is what happens to Chris Ryder in The Killer Trail, and he struggles to make sense of his new reality. At the same time, Ray Owens attempts to use his newfound discovery of truth as a weapon to destroy Chris.
