“Ready to Start”
It’s been awhile since my last post, which could give the impression that things have slowed down for a bit of quiet time, right? Well, not exactly. Like the title from the Arcade Fire song, I’m getting ready to start.
Although my book is not scheduled for release until May 15, there’s been a fair bit of activity behind the scenes in recent weeks. The print proofs for the book are in the final phase, which has me looking forward to soon holding a copy of THE KILLER TRAIL in my hands.
I recently completed my first interviews for the book and I’ve been coordinating events for the coming months. This includes signings at local bookstores in and around Vancouver in May. I’m also fortunate to be participating at a writer’s conference in Toronto in early June. This will be followed by a book signing in my hometown of St. John’s in mid June while I’m back visiting family and friends.
This so-called quiet time feels a little like a calm before the storm in some ways. That’s because the release of the book and the related events are all new experiences for me and will take me outside my familiar comfort zone. But that’s okay, I plan on making the most of that nervous energy. I’m ready to start!
