BAD SEED

Believe it or not, the book I’m currently working on owes its title in part to an invasive plant. I’d been writing for several hours and realized I needed a break. So I grabbed my running shoes and headed to a local trail for a run. It was raining hard on that cold, winter’s day and it didn’t take long for my shoes to  become water logged and for my pants to get splattered with mud.

As I was running I started thinking about a title for the book I was writing, the third one featuring Chris Ryder and Ray Owens as introduced in THE KILLER TRAIL. I had a few working titles but none of them really jumped out at me. And then, as if on cue, my eyes focussed on a sign (see attached photo) as I turned a corner on the trail. I knew I had my title!

BAD SEED works on a number of thematic levels in the story. I hope one day to be able to share that story with you!
